The Hartland Area Project will recognize neighbors across these categories — spanning our three pillars of health & welfare, education & culture, and economic development. We’re finalizing the details now.
Citizen of the Year
An outstanding person or couple who has made a significant, lasting contribution to the Hartland community. Open to every citizen in the area, considered cumulatively over years of service.
Entrepreneur of the Year
A local small-business owner or majority partner active in day-to-day operations — a for-profit Hartland business of 100 or fewer employees, established locally at least two years and in good standing.
Artist of the Year
Excellence and contribution in the arts, music, and culture that enrich life in Hartland.
Pastor of the Year
A pastor or faith leader whose compassion and service strengthen the spiritual heart of our community.
Teacher of the Year
An educator who demonstrates leadership, inspires students in a caring environment, collaborates with families and administration, and brings the best methods and technology to the classroom.

How nominees are reviewed
The same fair process as scholarships.
Multiple committee members score nominations independently; the committee confirms each year’s recipients and records the decision. Recipients are selected on an objective, nondiscriminatory basis, without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, or disability.
